Purpose and Scope
The scholarship award is set up to give recognition to students with disabilities or special educational needs (SEN), who also have a strong interest and passion in the business, banking, and finance industry in Hong Kong, in the pursuit of excellence in participating in community services and commitment to the community, achievement in extracurricular activities and their willingness to challenge themselves to experience new exposures.
Objectives
- To support the beneficiaries in pursuing training and studies to enhance their employment readiness and career development.
- To support beneficiaries in acquiring assistive equipment and technology to support their employment.
- To enable beneficiaries to gain insights and share experiences with mentors, helping them to refine their career goals and direction.
- To provide beneficiaries with the opportunity to network with Deutsche Bank mentors, gain insights into financial institutions, and exchange knowledge and work experiences to navigate their career aspirations and direction better.
Program Highlight
Monetary Awards
Five grants of HK$25,000 each will be awarded to successful candidates.
3-Month Mentorship Program
Each awardee will be assigned one staff member from Deutsche Bank as their mentor. This 3-
month mentorship programme comprises a training session on mentorship, two meet-ups with
the mentors and a virtual wrap-up session.
Eligibility and Criteria
- Eligible Hong Kong Permanent Resident holding a valid Hong Kong Identity Card
- Applicants must have a disability or special educational needs (SEN) confirmed by medical professional(s) with the relevant supporting document issued within 2 years
- Incoming exchange students not pursuing their entire academic programmes at their respective schools are NOT eligible for the award
- Applicants must NOT be an affiliate or a family member of any Deutsche Bank employee
- Applicants must be current students (2024/25) or graduates of local higher education institutions, regardless of the funding source of the institutions, i.e. both self-financing local programmes and publicly-funded programmes are eligible
Required Documents for Application
Applicants are required to complete the online application form and enclose the scanned copies of the following documents:
- Your student photo
- Your curriculum vitae (not exceeding 2 pages) in English
- Your valid student card issued by the school attending; or a copy of the graduate certificate(s) (for post-secondary applicants who have already graduated)
- The relevant document(s) confirming your disability/SEN by medical professional(s), issued within 2 years from their scholarship application form submission date
